SADDLE RIVER HISTORIC 1835 BISHOP HOUSE
NEW JERSEY -

ALMOST COMPLETE!

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the 1835 Bishop House is a striking example of Colonial architecture.

We are honored to be selected by the Borough to convert the Bishop House, fallen into disrepair, into a Community and Cultural Center for the residents of Saddle River.

As recipients of the NJ State Historic Preservation Award, and in Gus’ role as former Chairman of the Saddle River Landmarks Commission, our extensive experience prepared us to restore the Bishop House with historic accuracy to meet the needs of modern times.

Leaking roof, sagging floors and broken ceilings characterized the Bishop House before we Transformed both the exterior and interior, using historically-sensitive contemporary finishes to create a large, open public meeting space with a coffered ceiling. We also restored all the main rooms on the first floor and added to the dining room French doors that lead to a patio and garden.

We have had a long, creative history with the Borough of Saddle River, and we look forward to seeing the interior details of this significant project come to fruition!
