Set on a promontory looking East toward New York City,

nestled alongside Montclair State University,

are 36 townhouse units that we designed on a steep site,

using gabion stone walls to mitigate the changes in slope.

The individual townhouse buildings are clad in cedar siding.

The units, accessed from common stairways, lead to homes with cathedral ceilings and varied levels of living space.

Exterior balconies provide immediacy with the outdoors and an aesthetic interest to the facades.
