BROADWAY VILLAGE AFFORDABLE HOUSING,
WOODCLIFF LAKE, NEW JERSEY

We were honored to see our Broadway Village Affordable Housing Community

described in the local press as: “Low Cost Housing, High On Aesthetics.”

“Housing: Affordable Units Distinguished by Dutch Colonial Look.”

Broadway Village surpassed Borough expectations

and led to renovations of their 1920’s Municipal Building,

Firehouse, Maintenance Facility, and Salt Shed,

in addition to a study of

ADA compliance of public buildings within Woodcliff Lake.

In response to the Mount Laurel decision

mandating NJ municipalities to provide affordable housing,

the Borough and the Bergen County Community Housing in Partnership

sought a design concept that would infuse their inclusive housing community

with elegance and dignity.

We were chosen from among 23 firms for our unique architectural solution

that paid homage to Woodcliff Lake’s roots

in the Dutch Colonial vernacular of the Pascack Valley.

The acclaimed Broadway Village is interspersed with stepped facades,

stone walls and porches, which contribute to a lively, planned neighborhood atmosphere.

It is one of two NJ COAH projects honored for exceptional design.

When people tell us they cannot find our Affordable Housing Community on Broadway …

we say “Mission Accomplished!”
